Description

At 1:300, this Akagi is a large, display-focused model of the Imperial Japanese Navy aircraft carrier as it appeared in its 1927 to 1942 service period. With 3,610 pieces, it is clearly aimed at experienced builders who want a substantial project and a serious shelf piece. The finished ship measures 87 cm long, so it has a strong presence once built. The model includes one minifigure of Captain Kichii Hasegawa, along with 14 mini planes for the deck. It also features movable airplane elevators, propellers, rudders, rotating turrets, and guns that can be raised and lowered. A black display stand with engraved plates is included, plus a brick-built map table related to the Pearl Harbor attack.
